Strategic Management Planning

Know Where You're Going

"Recently, the Bay Area Region used the Strategic Planning Alliance process at a combined Bay Area Management Planning Session to develop a strategic plan and cross OpCo investment strategy which included SMCC sales, SunService, SunSoft, Sun Professional Services and others. The session resulted in much improved communication, better teamwork with the OpCos, mutually agreed upon strategies and an action plan to drive sales in the San Francisco Bay Area."

Business Planning Overview

Strategic Planning Alliance offers both planning services and consulting services focused on assisting companies and sales units to develop strategic business plans. For the young or startup company, a methodology and process for developing the business plan is available. For the sales unit, a region, area, etc., Strategic Planning Alliance has a tailored planning process which brings together the management team and its extended resources to develop a strategic plan to meet the goals of the unit.

Another excellent use of the SPA two-day planning session format is for start-up companies. In an economy that has taken a severe downturn, it has become increasingly difficult for young companies to meet their goals. The Strategic Planning Alliance program allows for the principals of the organization to spend two days focusing on what is critical in the near term. Also, corporate goals and timetables may have been seriously altered and realigning all the executives around an agreed upon agenda may make the difference between success and failure.

Investors in the start-ups have found the methodology to be very valuable in determining how the resources of the company can be utilized most efficiently. For instance, with funding for Mergers and Acquisitions becoming harder and harder to procure, it might not be advisable to pursue selling the company as a primary objective in lieu of other alternatives. Reducing expenses, cutting staff and limiting travel will help the bottom line but there also needs to be some emphasis on increasing the top down revenue. We have had a great deal of success in helping new organizations, non profit entities, and start-ups gain traction and focus on activities that will help them realign their principals to the current economy. Please refer to our testimonials for more information on how the SPA program can help your organization.
